How to Configure the Data in Tally or fix data location ?

Data configuration means fixing your data location so that when you enter on “select company” the list of company will display which you have. Data location is the location of your tally’s data, if you had given the Data location path at the time of installation of Tally setup then you do not need to set it again, but if you have not selected your data path or if you want to change it then follow the below steps.


Open Tally > press F12 for Configuration > Data Configuration > Map Data Location > Accept. Default Company option should be “NO” so that when you open the Tally Company should not start automatically, if you want the company should get start automatically then keep this option “yes” and select the number of your company.
